Glenis lives in Lancashire with her husband and two black cats. She began writing when her daughter died in 1999. At first it served to help her with her loss but, in time, she began to enjoy writing for its own sake. After taking several online writing courses with the, sadly now defunct, trAce writing school, she then took Manchester Metropolitan University’s MA Creative Writing (online) course, graduating in July 2006. She has had a variety of jobs ranging from radiographer to working on a young person’s helpline. Now she works as a library assistant on a casual basis which allows her to focus on her writing whenever she feels the need. Glenis is publishing her novel, Without, through Matador Publishing in 2010 and Cinnamon Press published her novel, Brother ’Lijah Built the Ark in March 2011. She is currently working on a novel, Halfway Down the Stairs and has further plans to write a novel based on her great grandmother's emigration to America in 1905 taking one child with her and leaving seven behind. She has also published poetry and short stories in magazines and anthologies. If questioned closely Glenis will admit to being addicted to the internet despite having once proclaimed, “Why would anyone waste their time gazing at a computer screen?” Everyone makes mistakes sometimes!
